exocrine, a. Physiol.|ˈɛksəʊkraɪn, -ɪn| [f. Gr. ἔξω outside + κρίνειν to separate, cf. endocrine a. and n.] Having external secretion; designating or pertaining to the discharge of a secretion through a duct or the secretion itself. Quot. 1911 is an erroneous definition.
