Evzone, evzone|ˈɛvzəʊn| [ad. mod.Gr. εὔζωνος n., f. Gr. εὔζωνος dressed for exercise, f. εὐ- eu- + ζώνη girdle (see zone n. 3).] A member of a select infantry regiment in the Greek army, originally recruited from the Greek highlands and conspicuous for their uniform which includes a fustanella.
