† eˈventilate, v. Obs. [f. L. ēventilāt- ppl. stem of ēventilā-re to fan, f. ē- out + ventilāre to fan: see ventilate. Cf. OF. eventiler.] 1. trans. To expose to the wind or air; to fan; to winnow (corn); to aerate (blood).
1623in Cockeram. 1657Phys. Dict., Eventilated, fanned, cooled, or clensed by the wind. 1684tr. Bonet's Merc.
