etærio Bot.|ɛˈtɪərɪəʊ| Also rarely hetærio. [ad. F. etairion, etairium (C.F.B. de Mirbel 1813, in Nouveau Bulletin des Sciences, par la Société Philomatique III. 317), f. Gr. ἑταιρεία association.] An aggregate fruit, like that of the buttercup, strawberry, or raspberry. The form hetærio never attained wide currency.
