Reese & H. D. Moon in Anatomical Rec. LXX. 543 The..increase in the adrenal of normal rats following administration of the adrenocorticotrophic hormone of the anterior hypophysis is well known. 1944Anatomical Rec. LXXXIX. 163 Effect of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) on the anterior pituitary of the adrenalectomized young male rat. 1950Lancet 7 Jan. 11/1 A.C.T.H. seems to be the most promising tool medical investigators have today. 1962Lancet 28 Apr. 888/1 Acute failure was precipitated by the adrenocorticotrophic stimulus of isoniazid. Hence aˌdrenocorticoˈtrop(h)in [-in1] = adrenocorticotrop(h)ic hormone.
