telephonograph|tɛlɪˈfəʊnəgrɑːf, -æ-| [f. tele- + phonograph, or f. telephone + -graph.] An instrument consisting of a combination of telephone and phonograph, by which telephone messages can be recorded and subsequently reproduced. Also applied (in U.S.) to Poulsen's telegraphone. Hence ˌtelephonoˈgraphic a., pertaining to or of the nature of a telephonograph; ˌtelephoˈnography, the working or use of a telephonograph.
