telencephalon Anat.|ˌtɛlɛnˈsɛfəlɒn| [f. tele- + encephalon.] The anterior of the two vesicles into which the prosencephalon or fore-brain divides in the embryo, or the two antero-lateral vesicles that it gives rise to; the corresponding part of the adult brain, comprising the cerebral hemispheres and the anterior parts of the hypothalamus and the third ventricle.
