teinoscope|ˈtaɪnəʊskəʊp| [f. Gr. τείνειν to stretch, extend + -scope.] An optical instrument in which prisms are so arranged and combined as to increase or diminish the apparent linear dimensions of objects, while the chromatic aberration of the light is corrected.
