Egyptology|iːdʒɪpˈtɒlədʒɪ| [f. as if ad. Gr. *αἰγυπτολογία, f. αἰγυπτός Egypt + -λογία discoursing (see -logy).] The study of Egyptian antiquities, of the ancient Egyptian language and history. Hence Egypˈtologer = Egyptologist. Egyptoˈlogical a., pertaining to, concerned with, or devoted to Egyptology. Egypˈtologist, one versed in the study of Egyptian antiquities.
