synectics orig. U.S.|sɪˈnɛktɪks| Also Synectics. [f. synectic a., perh. after dialectics.] A method of problem-solving, esp. by groups, which seeks to illuminate and utilize the factors involved in creative thinking. A proprietary term in the U.S. (see quot. 1966).
