‖ ecˈtropion, -um Pathol. [mod.L. ectropium, Gr. ἐκτρόπιον, f. ἐκ out + τρέπειν to turn.] ‘An outward bending; especially applied to the condition in which the eyelid folds on itself, so that the conjunctival surface becomes external; eversion of the eyelid’ (Syd. Soc. Lex.).
