rat-goose Ornith. [Given by Willughby, app. as a local name.] A kind of wild-goose, supposed to be the brent-goose. The statement of Pennant (Zool. II. 453) that ‘the Danish and Norwegian names for this bird are Radgaas and Raatgaas’ is app. erroneous.
