duodene Mus.|ˈdjuːəʊdiːn| [f. med.L. duodēna a dozen, a group of twelve, f. L. duodēnī twelve each: cf. late L. centēna, etc.] Name given by A. J. Ellis to a group of twelve notes having certain fixed relations of pitch, in a proposed scheme for obtaining exact intonation on a keyboard instrument.
