a. An organ-stop sounding two octaves higher than the ordinary pitch, i.e. an octave above that called ‘octave’ (octave 3 e); = fifteenth B. 2 b.
b. ‘A coupler pulling down keys one octave above those struck’ (Stainer and Barrett Dict. Mus. T. 1876).
