rareˈfactive, a. and n. [ad. L. type *rārēfactīvus, f. rārēfacere to rarefy. Cf. F. raréfactif (16th c.).] A. adj. Having the quality of rarefying; characterized by rarefaction. (In recent use only Path. of diseases of bones.)
