† diˈsterr, v. Obs. rare. [f. dis- 7 c + L. terr-a land. Cf. It. disterrare, OF. desterrer (11th c. in Hatz.-Darm.) ‘to take out of the ground’ (Cotgr.), mod.F. déterrer, formerly also, ‘to deprive of land or country’.] trans. To banish from one's country; to exile. (Only in Howell.)
