dimorphotheca Bot.|daɪˌmɔːfəʊˈθiːkə| [mod.L. (S. Vaillant 1722, in Hist. et Mémoires Acad. Sci 1720 279), f. Gr. δίµορϕος dimorphous a. + theca 2.] A plant of the South African genus of herbs or sub-shrubs so named, of the family Compositæ; the Cape Marigold (see marigold 1 d).
