[Irreg. f. L. struth-io: see -ian and struthious a.]
Tending to ‘hide one's head in the sand’, like the ostrich (see sand n.2 2 d), and so to ignore unwelcome facts (Koestler's word). Also as n., one who does this. Hence struˈthonianism.
