diˌazotiˈzation Chem. [f. diazotize v. + -ation.] The process of converting a compound or a group of atoms into a diazo or diazonium compound or group; esp. the conversion of an aromatic primary amine into a diazonium compound by the action of nitrous acid in ice-cold acid solution.
