streptothricin Biochem.|strɛptəʊˈθrɪsɪn, -ˈθraɪsɪn| [f. mod.L. streptothric-, streptothrix + -in1.] Each of a group of related antibiotic but toxic compounds, C13H21N6O7(C6H12N2O)n, produced by the soil bacterium Actinomyces lavendulæ.
