‖ acephala, n. pl. Zool.|əˈsɛfələ| [late L. acephala, a. Gr. ἀκέϕαλα adj. neut. pl. = headless (sc. animalia).] Name given (by Lamarck) to one of the two great divisions of Molluscs. The sing. is supplied by acephal or more commonly acephalan.
