1601Holland Pliny II, Bats bloud hath a depilatorie facultie to fetch off haire. 1766Pennant Zool. (1776) IV. 59 (Jod.) ælian says that they were depilatory, and..would take away the beard. 1835Kirby Hab. & Inst. Anim. II. xxii. 424 It emits a milky saliva, which is depilatory.
