stilbite Min.|ˈstɪlbaɪt| [a. F. stilbite (Haüy 1796), f. Gr. στίλβειν to glitter: see -ite.] A hydrous silicate of aluminium and calcium, in oblique prismatic crystals with pearly lustre. Formerly not distinguished from heulandite.
