Police during the night searched Ringhals with bomb searching dogs and did not find anything else, it added.

The Ringhals power station consists of four reactors in southern Sweden, near Gothenburg.

"In the afternoon, a suspected explosive was discovered in a truck on its way in to Ringhals' operating facility," the company said in a statement.
