Make dough: In a small pot over low heat, warm butter, molasses, golden syrup and sugar until butter is just melted.

Personally, however, I like the flavour of golden syrup – slightly more interesting than corn or glucose, but less assertive than the bee stuff.

I pad out the cereal with toasted oats and dried fruits and have replaced the golden syrup with the more interestingly flavoured maple.
