单词 woman
释义
woman
(once / 9 pages)
n

When a little girl grows up, she becomes a woman, otherwise known as an adult female.
When you're talking about a woman, you're talking about a girl who's all grown up. Just as man sometimes refers to all people or all men, woman can refer to all women, as in "What's next for today's woman?" You could say you're "hiring a woman" (meaning a cleaning woman), and sometimes a man will talk about "his woman" (meaning his wife) — but most women would agree that those terms are kind of outdated and offensive.
