Forest Service will waive fees for day-use recreation sites in Washington including picnic areas, boat launches and trail heads.

The next morning, I drove eastward around the lake’s southern rim, past the Phantom Ship overlook and onto the trail head of Plaikni Falls.

There are no paper maps at the trail heads, but a printable online map shows restrooms, stores and bike shops along the route.
