Again, Virgil tells us that Antenor settled near this river and founded a colony—Patavium—on the low plains of the delta.

There is no reason to suppose from this that Livy’s birthplace was not Patavium itself, but a village Aponus, which is nowhere mentioned.

Padua, once Patavium, is of very ancient date, and is said to owe its origin to Antenor, the brother of Priam, King of Troy.
