- (1892-1964) a US comedian and singer who performed in films and on stage, radio and television. He was known for his cheerful personality, big eyes and high voice. He began in 1917 with the Ziegfeld Follies and his best-known songs were Making Whoopee and If You Knew Susie. In 1956 he received a special Oscar.
