In 2003 it had six Members of Parliament in the House of Commons but three of them left in protest at their leader's support of the Good Friday Agreement. It has lost support to the Democratic Unionist Party. The party had two members elected to the House of Commons in the 2015 General Election, but lost them again in 2017.
