/ˌəʊld mɔːrz ˈɔːlmənæk/, /ˌəʊld mɔːrz ˈælmənæk/
- a book published once a year in Britain which claims to predict the important events of the next year. It was first published in 1697 by Francis Moore, a London doctor and astrologer (= a person who studies the stars and planets and believes that they can influence people's lives). It refers to people and events in such a general way that some people believe that it can really predict the future.
