Davy Crockett

- (1786-1836) a famous American frontiersman from Tennessee. He was also a soldier with General Andrew Jackson and a politician, being elected to the US Congress (1827-31 and 1833-5). He was killed at the Alamo. Many stories are told of his life. Walt Disney made a television series about him in the 1950s and the film Davy Crockett (1955).
