- a group of English Romantic poets who lived in the Lake District. Its best-known members were William Wordsworth, who was born in the Lake District and lived there for most of his life, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, who settled there in 1800. Others included Robert Southey and Thomas De Quincey.
