Captain Kidd

- William Kidd (c. 1645-1701) a Scottish sea captain and pirate (= person on a ship who attacks and robs other ships). He was captured and hanged in London after attacking a number of ships in the Indian Ocean. It is said that he hid a large amount of stolen treasure which has never been found.
