Saratoga

/ˌsærəˈtəʊɡə/
- the original name of Schuylerville, New York. The Americans won two important victories over British forces there in October 1777, during the American Revolution. The battles have been called the 'turning point' of the war, because the French then decided to give military support to the Americans. Saratoga National Historical Park was established in 1938.
