St Martin-in-the-Fields
/snt ˌmɑːtɪn ɪn ðə ˈfiːldz/
/seɪnt ˌmɑːrtn ɪn ðə ˈfiːldz/
- a church in central London, designed by James Gibbs and completed in 1726. The Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields was originally based there, and performances by other musical groups are still given there. The church also started an art college in 1854, now called the Central St Martin's College of Art and Design in Bloomsbury.
