(also Jackie Onassis)
- (1929-94) the wife of President John F Kennedy. She was born Jacqueline Bouvier and married him in 1953. She is remembered as an elegant US First Lady and is admired by Americans for her courage after her husband was murdered. Many, however, did not approve of her marriage to the Greek businessman Aristotle Onassis (1968-75). After his death she lived a very private life in New York, where she worked for a publishing company.
