- a street in central London. It is perhaps best known as the place where Sherlock Holmes, the detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, lived. His address was number 221B Baker Street. In the stories, Holmes sometimes uses a group of local children he calls the Baker Street Irregulars to get information for him. see also detective story
