- a US film (1991) in which Anthony Hopkins plays Hannibal Lecter, a violent murderer who eats the people he kills. Jodie Foster plays the FBI agent who needs his help to catch another murderer. Some people were shocked by the violence of the film when it was first shown. In two further films, Hannibal (2001) and Red Dragon (2002), Anthony Hopkins played Lecter again.
