► offensive likely to upset or offend people:  His remarks are offensive to African Americans.
► obnoxious behaving very badly and very rudely toward other people:  One drunk and obnoxious customer was making rude comments about the waitresses.
► disrespectful not showing respect for someone or something, when you should:  The players should not be disrespectful to the coach.
► insolent formal deliberately rude, especially to someone in authority:  Instead of answering the question, she gave him an insolent stare.
► impertinent/impudent formal impolite and not respectful, especially to someone who is older or more important:  It was impudent of her to try to tell the teacher how to teach.
