Now rare noun A monocyclic hydrocarbon of the terpene series which is the d-isomer of limonene (hence more usually called d-limonene) and is an orange-scented liquid present in the essential oils of lemon, orange, bergamot, neroli, etc. Also (now historical ): any member of the class of monocyclic terpenes.
