This antibiotic is produced by the bacterium Streptomyces griseus. These include the antibiotics polymyxin B sulfate, streptomycin sulfate, chlortetracycline hydrochloride and neomycin sulfate. Treatment is with tetracycline (as doxycycline) and streptomycin for 6 weeks.
