A form of draughts played on a board of 100 squares, in which each player starts with twenty pieces.
Origin
Mid 18th century; earliest use found in Craftsman. Called in French le jeu de dames à la polonaise (Manoury, 1750), in Poland warcaby francuskie, lit. ‘French draughts’.
