释义 | Sir Robert Scott/skɒt / (1868–1912), English explorer and naval officer, father of Sir Peter Scott; full name Sir Robert Falcon Scott. In 1910–12 Scott and four companions made a journey to the South Pole by sledge, arriving there in January 1912 to discover that Roald Amundsen had beaten them by a month. Scott and his companions died on the journey back to base. |
