Pitcairn Islands

/A British overseas territory comprising a group of volcanic islands in the South Pacific, east of French Polynesia. The colony’s only settlement is Adamstown, on Pitcairn Island, the chief island of the group; population 50 (est. 2009). Pitcairn Island was discovered in 1767, and remained uninhabited until settled in 1790 by mutineers from HMS Bounty.
Origin
Named after the midshipman who first sighted the islands.
