Hudson River
A river of eastern North America, which rises in the Adirondack Mountains and flows southwards for 560 km (350 miles) into the Atlantic at New York.
Origin
Named after Henry Hudson (see Hudson, Henry), who in 1609 sailed 240 km (150 miles) up the river as far as Albany.
