释义 | Bassi, Laura/ˈbäsē / (1711–78), Italian physicist and professor, born in Bologna. After receiving her college degree in 1732, she became a professor at the University of Bologna, teaching philosophy, mathematics, and physics. She was the first woman to pursue a scientific career for which she was paid a salary. She also gave private instruction in physics and performed experiments in her home. |
