sick building

A building, typically a large, older, relatively poorly maintained office building, in which occupants report an increased incidence of non-specific upper respiratory and other symptoms (sick building syndrome), which have been attributed to factors such as temperature, humidity, indoor air pollutants, noise levels, and visual display units; also in extended use.
