A viscometer invented by Saybolt for measuring the viscosity of petroleum based liquids, typically consisting of an oil tube surrounded by a heated bath which controls the temperature of the liquid.
- The original Saybolt viscometer was subsequently termed the Saybolt universal viscometer, to distinguish it from a modified version called the Saybolt Furol viscometer..
