Probably the reflex of a borrowing from early Scandinavian (compare Norwegian regional (western) raudn, variant of Norwegian raun (earlier *raunn) rowan, showing West Norse dissimilation of early Scandinavian nn to dn, a characteristic feature of Icelandic, Faroese, Norn, and certain western Norwegian dialects).
